Unique 1,000-year-old deer-shaped banyan tree in Son Tra Peninsula
Hidden in the wild mountains of Son Tra Peninsula (Da Nang City), the deer-shaped banyan tree is increasingly massive and unique, with an age of nearly 1,000 years. This is one of the places that attracts tourists with a passion for adventure.
The reason for such a special name is because this banyan tree has the exact shape of a wild deer with the trunk split in half like the two pairs of front and back legs of a deer and the tree canopy reaching up into the sky like a skinny deer antlers. In addition, the tree's roots are shaped like a giant snake, clinging tightly to the trunk and the rocks below.
The unique shape of this ancient banyan tree is the factor that attracts people and tourists to visit and explore, although the road to the area where this banyan tree is located is not simple.
To check-in with the unique banyan tree, visitors move from Hoang Sa street to Son Tra, then turn right along the road leading down to the heritage banyan tree - another famous banyan tree on Son Tra peninsula. After that, visitors walk for about 1 hour under the canopy of the forest, through streams, and undulating rocks to reach the deer banyan tree.
