Scale and style of the garden house Hoa “Taxi”
Hoa “Taxi”, real name Lai Quang Phuc, was born in 1961 in Van Giang District, Hung Yen Province. When he grew up, he left his hometown to work far away from home, and in 1998 he returned to his hometown and continued to work in many different jobs. The opportunity to create Bonsai art came to him quite by chance. Before starting to play with trees, he had suffered from severe diabetes, which caused his spirit to collapse. However, thanks to his will and determination, he gradually regained balance in life through his love of nature and passion for ornamental plants. Just like that, he became passionate about the hobby of playing with bonsai without realizing it.
Currently, Hoa “Taxi” garden house has 4 gardens, with a total area of about 1,000 m2, including over 300 trees, mainly large trees. He shared: “In Vietnam, each region has a different culture of playing with trees. However, when approaching and being passionate about playing with Bonsai works, I personally always listen, learn, and always improve my knowledge, so that I can perfect my works to bring quality and value, especially works that must express diverse styles, regardless of region.”

At the garden of artisan Hòa “Taxi”, there are many unique works, most notably the tree “Độc lâm yêu thương”- a distinctive piece representing the Nam Dien fig tree style, as well as other creations such as “Dancing Unicorn”, “Ancient Wood”, and “Old Fig”. Each piece leaves a strong impression on bonsai enthusiasts and viewers alike.

After many years of traveling around the country to share and also collect works according to his preferences, up to now, artist Hoa “Taxi” has collected many different bonsai works, not only artists but also many partners and gardeners love. These works not only show the hard work of collecting and passion, but the artist determines that they must bring spiritual value and beauty to serve the needs of enjoyment for all classes of people in society.

Mr. Quynh emphasized: “When it comes to Hoa “Taxi”, there are two things to say. Firstly, Mr. Hoa is one of the people who loves bonsai art and has many impressive bonsai art works. Besides, Hoa “Taxi” is also one of the individuals who pay great attention to caring for, nurturing and gradually transforming these works into having higher artistic value. The scale of Hoa “Taxi”’s garden is not large, but the quality of the trees is very good. In particular, Hoa “Taxi”’s passion has been around for nearly 30 years now, but continues to grow. This is something to be respected, to be congratulated and in the future there will be many valuable works. Hopefully, in major exhibitions, every time Hoa “Taxi” is mentioned, viewers will be able to admire beautiful and valuable works of art”.
Having spent nearly 30 years pursuing his passion for bonsai art, Mr. Hoa “Taxi”’s passion has always been maintained and developed, expressed through bonsai works in the garden. With his passion, dedication and talent in the field of bonsai art, the results are high-quality bonsai works, Hoa “Taxi” is expected to continue to bring new values to the bonsai-loving community, worthy of being an artistic bonsai artist with impressive works.
