Three-Region Ornamental Plant Exhibition: Bringing "exotic flowers and rare plants" to Hue Festival 2025
In ancient space of Hue Imperial Citadel, Hue Festival 2025 will become more vibrant and lively than ever with the program “Exhibition of ornamental plants, orchids, ornamental rocks from three regions and activities of performing and experiencing Hue craft village products, the art of tea and cuisine."
This is not only a part of the series of major festivals of the National Tourism Year 2025 but also a cultural and artistic highlight connecting the present to the deep heritage of the former capital.
Taking place from April 26 to May 2 in the Imperial Citadel area, the exhibition will gather hundreds of bonsai trees, orchids, and ornamental stones from across Vietnam.
The “exotic flowers and rare plants” not only showcase the craftsmanship and passion of artisans but also embody the creative spirit and regional identity crystallized in every tree shape and stone form. At Thieu Phuong and Co Ha Gardens - locations deeply tied to imperial history - these ornamental masterpieces will be unveiled to the public and judged by a professional panel.

A standout feature of this year’s program is the “Offering of exotic flowers and rare plants” ceremony, a respectful reenactment of the Nguyen Dynasty's imperial tribute ritual.
From Ngo Mon Square to The Mieu Temple, a grand procession in traditional costumes accompanied by court music and artisans carrying signature ornamental artworks will create a symbolic space that honors nature, culture, and Vietnamese people.

In parallel with the exhibition, there will be live demonstrations of bonsai shaping, where artisans will display their exceptional skills on raw plant materials. This is also a valuable opportunity for the national ornamental plant community to exchange techniques and promote their unique creations. Additionally, the Hue craft village space will be vividly recreated with traditional handmade product stalls, tea-tasting experiences, and specialty cuisine—all blending together to paint a colorful cultural picture in the heart of the ancient capital.

A ceremonial incense offering will also take place at The Mieu Temple. According to the organizers, the exhibition not only enriches the Hue Festival 2025 program but also strengthens the enduring connection between heritage, ornamental horticulture, and the community. It is a meaningful step toward realizing the vision of transforming Hue into Vietnam’s signature Festival City—where traditional culture is preserved, inherited, and elevated amid the modern flow.
